Chicken kurma
Hello My friends,
I am extremely sorry for keeping quite for long time.I was bit busy with my work & Not feeling well due to Morning sickness.Yes,carrying my second baby. Finally i got my vacations & Totally free up-to this month end so taking rest.This is a simple curry goes well with everything.
Ingredients:
Chicken - 1/2 kg
Onion - 1
Tomato - 2
Cinnamon - 1'
Cardamom - 1
Cloves - 2
Chilly powder- 1 tsp
Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt - To taste
Coriander & curry leaves
For Masala :
Coconut - 4 tsp
Poppy seeds- 1/2 tsp
Fennel seeds - 1 tsp
Green chilly - 2
Ginger - 1'
Garlic - 10
Cloves - 2
Cinnamon - 1'
Pepper - 1/2 tsp
Cashew - 4
Preparation method :
1. Grind above ingredients into smooth paste.
2. Heat the pressure cooker,add cinnamon,cardamom & cloves.
3. Add chopped onion & saute well.
4. Add chopped tomato & fry for 2 min.
5. Add chilly powder,coriander,salt & chicken pieces. Fry for 3-4 min.
6. Add grounded paste & mix well until the raw smell goes.
7. Pour 2 cups of water & add curry leaves & coriander, close the lid, cook for 5-6 whistles.
8. Remove the lid,adjust the salt & spice level according to your taste.
9. If you want to increase spicy add 1/4 tsp of pepper powder & cook for another 2 min.
10. Serve hot with Rice,Roti,Idly or Dosa.

Fresh juices
In Bangalore summer started already.It's too hot here this time.My son is not eating anything properly now a days.So i prepared these juices & shakes for him.Fresh juices are his all time favorite one.So without any complaints he finish it off soon.These are easy to prepare,fresh,thirst quenchers & healthy too.It reduce your body heat & makes you energetic.
Orange juice:
Orange -4
Sugar - 3 tsp
Ice cubes - 2
Extract juice from oranges , mix ice cubes & sugar, Serve immediately.
Apple Milkshake:
Apple -1 cup
Milk - 1/2 cup
Ice cubes - 3
Sugar - 2 tsp
Remove the skin & seeds from apple & cut it into pieces.Blend all the ingredients together in a blender, pour in a glass serve it immediately.
Watermelon juice:
Watermelon - 1 cup
Lemon juice - 1 tsp
Ice cubes - 3
Sugar - 3 tsp
Water - 1/4 cup
Blend all the ingredients together in a blender,Strain the it.Serve it cool
Badam milk:
Badam - 10
Milk - 1/2 lit
Cereal nuts - 2 tsp
Sugar - 3 tsp
Cardamom powder - pinch
Rose petals - few (optional)
Soak badam in hot water for 2 hrs. Peel the skin,grind almonds with 1 tsp of cereal seeds to a paste adding milk.Boil the milk,add sugar,cardamom powder & grounded badam paste. Mix well.Allow it to boil for 10 min.Keep stirring.Turn off the heat.Garnish with Cereal nuts & rose petals.You can serve either hot or cold.

Pepper chicken fry
This is a simple Chicken fry which i tried for my husband . I prepared this fry with out adding water & tomato.It came out really good.Everybody enjoyed at my home.It tastes good with rice & roti.
Ingredients:
Chicken - 250g (bone less)
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp (freshly ground)
Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tsp
Chicken masala - 1/2 tsp
Curd - 2 tsp
Salt - To taste
For seasoning:
Whole black pepper - 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves
Onion - 1
Garlic - 15 flakes
Preparation method:
1. Mix all the ingredients along with chicken & Marinate for 30 min.
2. In heavy bottom pan,heat the oil,add curry leaves,chopped onion , garlic & Pepper corns.
3. Saute for 1 min,add Marinated chicken pieces,saute well.
4. Close with lid & allow it to cook,mix well in middle.
5. Saute well until it turn golden brown color & serve hot.

Pineapple Rasam
Hello friends, I am back with my kitchen recipes.Last month we shifted to our New house.Some what settled here.10 days before only i got net Connection.Last two months i missed ur yummy recipes.I started cooking in my kitchen. Here my All time favorite rasam
Rasam is a spicy soup made out of Tamarind water with spices like pepper & Jeera.Rasam is popular & must in south Indian meals.Without rasam our meal cannot complete. Tomato rasam is one of my favorite rasam. My mom will prepare many varieties like Lemon rasam,Garlic rasam,Kollu rasam,Paruppu rasam(Dal rasam),Milagu rasam & Mysore rasam.I will post these rasam varieties Later. I learnt this rasam from Cook Book written by Malliga Badrinath.I did few changes from her recipe according to my taste.Try this once,I am sure u loves it.
Ingredients:
Tamarind - 1/2 cup
Chopped pineapple- 1/2 cup
Pineapple juice - 1/2 cup
Rasam powder- 2 tsp
Tomato - 1
Turmeric Powder- 1/4 tsp
Garlic - 2 flakes
Salt - To taste
For seasoning:
Red chilli -3
Jeera - 1/2 tsp
Mustard - 1/2 tsp
Hing -1/4 tsp
Curry leaves
Coriander leaves
Ghee or oil - 2tsp
Preparation method :
1. Add 1/2 cup of water along with chopped pineapple,boil until it will become soft.
2. Mix tamarind water,pine apple juice along with Salt & turmeric powder.
3. Add chopped tomato,Rasam powder,garlic, Coriander leaves & Required water.
4. Heat the ghee,add seasoning ingredients,fry it & add along with rasam.
5. Finally add 1/2 tsp sugar.Allow it to boil & serve with white rice.

Pidi Kozhukattai & 1 st Blog B'day
I am extremely sorry my Dear Blogger Buddies for taking small break without informing to u all.We went to short trip to Madurai & palani.I was hospitalized for a week because of bad health condition due to travel.I am started to going for Work Again.So Now a days not getting free time like before.I missed your posts & Blogging.Now my health is better & back again for blogging.I missed my first blog B'day also.Last year January 28th I started My blog.I am celebrating 3 weeks later.I prepared this simple & yummy Dish.You can feed this to Kids starting from 8 months to all ages.Comfort & tasty evening snacks.There are many varieties Kozhukattai.But this is simple & tasty one. You can prepare salty version also.My mom used prepare this for us.My son used to eat this without any complaints.
Ingredients:
Rice flour - 1 cup
Jaggery - 3/4 cup
Coconut - 1/4 cup ( cut into fine pieces)
Ghee - 2 tsp
Cardamom - 2 (optional)
Preparation method:
1. Heat 1 1/2 cups water in a heavy bottom vessel.
2. When it's boiling,add 1 tsp of ghee & grated Jaggery.Once it melts fully,filter it once & starts boiling again.
3. Now add coconut & cardamom power. Mix well.
4. Now add rice flour,mix carefully,no lumps should be form.Cook for 5 min.
5. If it is too watery add little rice flour & mix properly.
6. You can shape it by pressing between your palms.
7. Grease idly plates using ghee,place kozhukattai.
8. Steam cook for 10-12 min.
9. Now tasty Pidi kozhukattai is ready to serve.

Mutton Gravy
Ingredients:
Mutton - 1/2 kg
Onion- 2
Tomato - 2
Chilli powder -2 tsp
Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
Salt -To taste
Curry leaves
Coriander leaves
For Grinding :
Coconut Grated - 4 tsp
Pepper corns - 1/2 tsp
Poppy seeds - 1/2 tsp
Cloves - 3
Cinnamon - 1'
Fennel seeds (Sombu) - 1/2 tsp
Ginger - 1'
Garlic - 8 cloves
Preparation Method :
1. Wash & cut Mutton into Medium pieces.
2. Add salt,Turmeric powder,Chilli powder,Coriander,curry leaves & required water along with Mutton.
3. Pressure cook for 10 min or 6-8 whistles.If mutton is hard cook for another 4 whistles.
4. Heat the oil in pan,add onion,saute until become golden color.
5. Add chopped Tomatoes,cook til it will become soft.
6. Now add Grounded masala,fry for 1 min.
7. After that add mutton pieces ,Mix well & cook for 5- 10 min.
8. Garnish with coriander & serve with Rice,Idly or Dosa.

Puli sadam (Tamarind rice)
Sakkarai pongal(Sweet pongal)
Semiya payasam (Vermicelli kheer)
Parangikai pachadi ( Yellow pumpkin)
Kathirikkai masiyal (Brinjal Ghostu)
Vazhaikai poriyal ( Plantain)
Sarkarai valli kizhangu fry (Sweet potato)
Paavaikai pachadi (Bitter guard)
Avaraikai poriyal ( Broad beans)
Finally plain Vadas.
